After trying his hand at economics, event planning, and pottery Scott Frelund decided it was time to finally pursue his dream career: cosmetology.

“The school’s location makes it stand out.  To me, New York is the best city in the world.  I’ve lived all over - from the Financial District to the Upper East Side, Brooklyn and Queens.  You can fall in love with something different every day,” says Scott.

Just as he was finalizing his plans to enroll for November, Scott and his family ran into a crisis. Hurricane Sandy destroyed their home on the Jersey Shore.  With only a few weeks before he was scheduled to start class, Scott had a big decision to make.

Luckily, his family encouraged him to continue. “I still go home on the weekends to help.  Every day presents a new challenge as we work to rebuild, but I am extremely grateful to my family, friends, and everyone at ARROJO for their support in this difficult time,” says Scott.

Scott’s passion is evident by his ability to overcome a seemingly insurmountable challenge. “This was the place for me from the moment I walked through the door,” he says. “I chose ARROJO simply because it is the best of the best.  Cosmetology is an art form here, and I am constantly inspired by the immense passion the students and educators have for their craft.”
