Class 2 Graduate!

alternate1

We’re thrilled to announce ARROJO cosmetology Class 2 are now high-flying beauty school graduates.

The presentation and Graduation party is the apotheosis of seven months of hard work. From day one, when students knew nothing of their new craft, to their Graduation Day, they have diligently studied cosmetology in theory and practice, working their way through basic blow-dry and styling techniques to advanced razor-cutting and creative color.

The Graduation party is a chance for them to show off their new skills. Each Graduate must display one model that is a reflection of their newfound technical and creative scope, and their own artistic interpretation of an era or theme. They must offer a complete look, including outfit, makeup, hair and style.

And what a show we got! Friends and family were invited, and came from across the country to see the hairdresser stars of the future. It made for a spirited, high-octane, atmosphere. Then, the runway model presentation, set to music, blew everyone away.

Justin’s look was inspired by 1960’s pop art. An A-line bob was transformed into a modern bob shape with graduation and movement, while ash-toned blonde was given gold dimension for shimmer and shine.

Matthew’s inspiration was the naturalness found in autumn. He worked with a curly textured model, shaping a short to long concave layer to create weightlessness and texture. A classic highlighting pattern showcased auburn red, with a warm base of copper and gold.

Sara produced a combination of the masculine and the feminine with a shorter version of the new shag–one side soft, one side strong–with hues of teal and yellow and red inserted into the short side panel for a bold and adventurous look.

Tatiane, the romantic amongst the group, was inspired by the image of a rose and produced a stunning fusion of square layers in the back and round layers in the front, removing weight and bulk form her curly haired model, and giving the hair the opportunity to swing and to move.

Elisha wanted an edgy baby doll, and her interpretation–square layers with loose and choppy texture and eggplant red color touch with a peek-a-boo effect–made for a playful, versatile style.

Chloe turned heads with a longer, sexier version of the new shag that featured a classic highlighting pattern of bleach and high lift blonde with free hand foils individually placed on the ends.

As the show drew to a close, certificates were presented, and a surprise treat was announced: special awards, each with $350 gift card for the ARROJO advanced academy, where ARROJO master stylists facilitate educational seminars for licensed stylists.

The prizes went to Justin (best attendance and best grade point average) and Chloe (best retail sales).

Then, speeches from Arianna, Class 2 educator, and Loretta, School Director, touched on how proud they were that these Graduates who, seven months ago, didn’t know how to hold a comb, could now produce such advanced, inspirational work. And they’re final message: “vow to never stop learning.”

Finally, Nick Arrojo, School Founder, was in Berlin for the Trend Vision Show, but he left a video message designed to rouse the Graduates to even greater achievements: “This is the beginning of your cosmetology career, work hard, stay inspired, think big, and all your dreams will come true.”

Praise, honor and acclaim our Class 2 Graduates. A bright and brilliant future awaits….

  1. Matthew says:

I am so proud of my entire class! We worked so hard these past seven months and I feel like we really got to display the skills we have learned. Thank you to all the family, friends, students, and staff members who attended our show!

On the first day of class I remember barely being able to section the hair into clean straight sections. I am amazed at how far I have come and grown over the duration of the course. My confidence has risen so much, and I am truly proud of the work I do.

I just want to say thank you to the amazing teachers and educators that we have had. I owe so much to Arianna, who was an amazing instructor, and helped me realize the potential inside of me. Also to Kimberly who further helped me feel confident in myself. Gina, Erica, Loretta, they have all been so inspiring and helpful. And everyone in the salon staff who came through to give us demos and lessons.

This will truly be a time in my life that I always look back on with fond memories and I hope that I have made lifelong friends in my classmates. I will miss all of them as we begin our new careers!

  2. Loretta says:
