“This has been one of the great experiences of my life. It’s only been 7 months since I moved to New York, and I started the program immediately. There are sixteen of us in the class and I thought that there was no way we would all get along. I have been proved wrong. Our teacher, Gina, is an excellent educator with the utmost respect for her job. You can see that she loves what she does. Everyday is a holiday at Arrojo. I love my school and everything about it. I love my teaches and the passion they teach with. Now that i’ve been matriculated into school I know I couldn’t of gotten a better education anywhere else (sorry Aveda). Nick’s vision of how he wanted student to learn came from him not having a proper foundation in his early years which lead him to be the overachiever that he is today. So I have to say thank you NICK for making a reality of how you dreamed cosmetology students should be taught and because that I am so thankful!!!

In my search for beauty schools, I stumbled upon Arrojo, which I now realized was the best decision of my entire life. Everyday I wake up thrilled to make my way to class because it’s not just school for me…I feel like family with my classmates and teachers. My education is personalized so that I can get the most out of my 1000 hours and learn the best execution for the things I learn, and I feel so comfortable and not rushed to get things done. Nick create with school with one thing in mind, and that is unparalleled education. From the teachers to the curriculum, down to the very tools we use everyday, there is no cutting corners. There’s no doubt in my mind that I will leave Arrojo prepared and ready for the real world and the business of hairstyling.
My experience at ARROJO so far has been truly amazing. It’s hard to believe the amount of information we’ve been taught in such a short period of time- the small victories and ‘lightbulb moments’ are piling up at a rate I wouldn’t have thought possible before coming here… We’re incredibly lucky to have such dedicated educators (especially mine- “shout out to Arianna!”), they are truly invested in teaching us to be real professionals- not just drilling state board material into our heads. In addition to that, we’ve also had the treat of having some of the salon stylists drop by to demonstrate cutting techniques, and some truly awesome outside guest appearances as well. We’ve had the opportunity to pick the brains of Mary Rector Gable from Behind The Chair, a working freelance makeup artist, a scissor maker/specialist, and today we got to witness Yosh (an AMAZING Japanese freehand cutter with 49 years of experience) perform 4 haircuts on some of our students. There’s just NO way that any other school out there is doing the things that ARROJO does… It’s only been 6 weeks since I’ve started, and the standard set in thos 6 weeks is incredible- I can’t wait to see what comes next!
These past 4 months have been an adventure that I will always remember. I have learned so much from amazing people especially from our lovely educator RACHEL. I’m greatful that I came to Arrojo and didnt go somewhere else. I dont know where else I could have been tought so much in such a short period of time. I love being here because everyday is something new. Everyday when I wake up I cant wait to go to school. I enjoy cutting hair and coloring hair and new techniques we have learned. I feel like Im a part of the Arrojo family and I suggest that anyone that wants to get in to cosmetology school should come to this awesome school. I’ve been at Arrojo for four months now and I can confidently say that it’s the best decision I have ever made. The curriculum is very challenging and the techniques we learn here are so far beyond that of any other cosmetology school. I want to specialize in color and we have really gone into color theory and practical applications. We take paying clients twice a week now so we are even building a client base already! The educators are the best… especially our class’ teacher, Rachel! We constantly have demonstrations from top stylists both from Arrojo Studio and other places. For example, the internationally famous hairdresser Yosh came yesterday and shared some of his 49 years of hairdressing experience. It was amazing! We are going on Monday to the IBS beauty show… All of these experiences are so inspirational for us. This school has given me the confidence to start my career as a hairdresser. I’m so excited to see what comes next!
Four months in and feeling like a pro! Nothings better than executing what we have learned with confidence and i can safely say here at arrojo we are surrounded by positive,understanding and attentative educators who truely want to see us, thoroughly and progressively, through to our graduation date. I am proud of my own progress and even more so for my peers, we have all grown so much thus far and cant wait to see us together at graduation. Arrojo is hands down a wonderful school but more so because of the relationships we build with one another and work as a team. Thanks to Loretta, Rachel and Gina ( and other unmentioned Staff) were well on our way to successful careers. THANKS GUYS and a big shout out to Class 5!!
Arrojo has been amazing! At first I felt a little overwhelmed and not really sure if I would truly understand the many different techniques we were being taught but over the past few months I feel like I finally understand and ‘get it”. My greatest appreciation goes out to my fabulous educator, Rachel for helping me achieve these skills and see my vision through.
