ARROJO Cosmetology Class 4 students are now, we’re proud and happy to say, high-flying beauty school graduates; and their Graduation Party & Presentation was one helluva bumping show.
But it didn’t happen by chance. During the seven-month curriculum, Undergraduates study and scrutinize everything from health and safety to client consultations to beauty product knowledge and usage to makeup and styling to the theory and practice of contemporary hairstyling and all the related sciences to advanced techniques in color and cut that are developed and practiced by ARROJO Studio Master Stylists.
Many of the skills our students learn go beyond State requirements so that they get a jump on the competition, can start their careers with the advanced, high-level techniques that define ARROJO’s modern and creative approach to precision-based hairstyling.
The Graduation Party & Presentation, then, is the students’ apotheosis of the hard study, practice, and practical application of the ARROJO Cosmetology Curriculum.
Each student presents one complete head-to-toe look, inclusive of overall concept or theme, styling and makeup, hair cut, color, and style. Sharing newfound knowledge, creativity, and skill, it is time and chance for each student to shine.
So with an audience of family and friends, fellow students and staff, it was onto the show. Set to a rollicking soundtrack, a slick, refined, and powerful catwalk presentation brought forward each student’s model.
Everything - the smooth and streamline runway show, the sense of style and individuality in each look, the creativity and precision of every cut and color and style, the overall concepts and themes - wowed the crowd, and belied the fact that seven short months ago, these Graduates never knew how to hold a comb.
As proceedings drew to a close, each of the 16 former students was presented with their hard-earned Graduation Certificate, while for the Highest Grade Point Average, Highest Retail Services, and Best Attendance, Kelly Hawkins, Marisa Bollman, and Kristen Jex each won a $350 gift certificate for advanced education at the ARROJO Academy.
By this time, applause was rapturous and tears were in the eyes of many students and family and staff, so it was left to Nick Arrojo to deliver the final inspirational speech:
“This is the beginning of your life as a cosmetologist. Wherever you go, whatever dreams and ambitions you have, remember that education is the foundation of a lasting, prosperous, and rewarding career. Work hard, stay inspired, thing big, and vow to never stop learning - and all your dreams will come true,” he said.
Honor, praise, acclaim ARROJO Cosmetology Class 4; for one and all, a bright, brilliant future awaits.

Each class sets the bar higher and this class certainly raised it a few notches. When their Dream Salon projects were presented in 3-D I knew we had a fantastic class of motivated, talented, high achievers and this certainly continued throughout their attendance at school and was celebrated at their graduation. They practiced their model presentations and public speaking relentlessly and it was a proud moment for us all when I was able to officially congratulate them on their graduation and present them with their certificates.

I am so proud of our class! It was such a great 7 months, I’ve grown so much as a hairstylist, I went from the beginning with not knowing how to even section hair to doing a full makeover! Everyone’s final models looked so great, and it really showed how much we all have grown with our confidence and skills. We couldn’t have done it without Gina, She was such an amazing teacher! I wish everyone the best of luck with everything, I know each and everyone will be GREAT with whatever paths they choose. I’ll miss you all!!
When I came to New York 7 months ago not sure what to do, I visited Arrojo Cosmetology School and instantly the people were very helpful, positive and friendly. The atmosphere was just what I was looking for and I felt like it was a fit for me. I have learned so much in 7 months from learning a center part to cutting techniques and color theory. Our teacher Gina is an amazing educator and is a great asset to Arrojo Cosmetology School. I know from the education we got that everyone of us will go out in the real world and do well. I also plan on continuing my education by taking Arrojo advanced classes. Good luck to all!!!
After a couple of trips to NYC my daughter knew the Big Apple was the place for her. After extensive research we decided on Arrojo for her education. We weren’t disappointed. They truly are an Ivy League school with the highest standards of education offered to their students. As a mom, I wanted to know my daughter was getting her money’s worth which is exactly what happened. Small class sizes, individualized attention, cutting edge techniques and opportunities to meet leaders in the industry are examples of what is offered at Arrojo. This combined with an instructor (Gina) that truly cared about her students made for an environment that I know my daughter will really miss. A big “thank you”, to all the staff at Arrojo for making my daughter’s education and time in NYC unforgettable.
My education at Arrojo has been priceless. I feel that the foundation of my new career is that of solid concrete; not an inch was missed during my time spent at Arrojo. Gina was literally the best and most caring educator I have ever had in my life and a huge part of my class’ success. From day one her standards were sky high, but there was never a question to small or insignificant. She helped our class technically and creatively grow everyday and it is something I will always be grateful for.
