Despite a stalling economy, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Occupational Outlook expects a 20 percent increase in employment for the cosmetology industry as a whole through 2018, much higher than the average for all occupations. So aside from the creativity, the chance to travel, work in film or TV, go on glamorous photo-shoots, and make people look and feel beautiful everyday, a career in beauty is also one of your safest bets for a successful future. For anyone thinking about their career path, here are five big reasons why the cosmetology industry continues to thrive.

Recently, school educator Pia Vivas challenged her class to an editorial styling project inspired by a collection on the media network, PSFK. The original portrait series, captured by photographer Roman Sakovich, is called ‘Half’ and features two combined images of the same person, drawing attention to how facial appearance, clothes and demeanor can be changed through the use of hair, makeup, styling, and lighting.

Cosmetology School graduate Stephanie Bill has a unique and inspiring story. As a client of the salon, she fell in love with the ARROJO culture from the other side of the chair. Spurred by the energy and creativity of the studio, Stephanie found the courage to embrace a lifelong dream, and took a seat in our classroom.

Our next class start date is November 26th, 2012. It is a full-time program that runs Monday-Friday, between 9:00am and 5:00pm. The 1,000 hour curriculum lasts 7 months.
Our next part time class will begin on April 29th, 2013. The schedule runs Monday-Thursday, from 5:30pm to 9:30pm and lasts for 17 months.
As part of our inclusive philosophy, we are welcoming prospective students into the school for Open House. Here’s the info:

ARROJO alumni Mary Ducey was in our first class of cosmetology graduates. She joined Class 1 in January 2009 and quickly put her array of talents to use. Now a full-time colorist at ARROJO Studio, Mary also puts her background in education to good use as an educator in the same apprentice program that shaped her own career.
